I haven’t used VeryGames per say, but if you are reading this before you buy from VeryGames (most likely you are) they do not host in the United States. This really makes me angry because they seem like such a solid host but from their hosting locations I have quite a bit of server lag. If you are living in the United States, I really wouldn’t buy from them.

i had a huge problem with verygames after uploading and getting all my plugins working i had a huge problem with server lag i didn’t get a single moments use of this 35$ server. my plan was to move from my current host with multiminecraft.com they are amazing btw i simply copped over what was on the server there witch worked fine with only 2 gigs of ram and 35 slots and we were usaly full once on verygames though just with 2 or 3 players the server would lag as in blocks would break reappear and thin break. i had done extrusive testing on my computer to see if it was a plugin and it ran better there with other people in it all 8 of my admins were there so i tried support all they did is insist it was my fault and refused to refund me along with the 48 hr response time i got because im from the u.s. at this point all id like is a refund but they refuse to refund me for there server problems i would never buy from here again and would recommend you to stay away as will (server Minecraft VQSi with map and backup upgrades)

i am just saying to uplode a map just use the ftp
To install a map on the server, copy your world folder somewhere on your pc, rename it to something unique without special characters or spaces then upload to your FTP into /games/minecraft/craftbukkit (or /games/minecraft/classic depending on what you’re playing on)

Go back to your control panel then in “My Server”, select your new world. If it’s not showing, reload the map lists with the tiny “reload” button and click “refresh” above.

Then you can reboot your server and it will launch on your map.

To install mods, you will need to run your server on “OpenMod JAVA”, available in the “My Games” menu of your server admin panel.

We really advise that only advanced users install OpenMod JAVA. It’s a system that allows you to launch your server as if you had rent a dedicated linux server and wanted to install a minecraft server on it. The difference is it’s cheaper and easier to set up.

You have to edit the server jar file with a program like “Inno Setup” or “Winrar”.

Then you need insert the wanted mod’s class files into it. But for that you have to follow the mod’s developer tutorial.

And change the launch command line from the VG admin panel, in “My Server” to [-jar] myminecraftmodjarfilename.jar

If you just want one single mod that doesn’t need a modloader or anything, you can just paste it’s jar single jar file into /games/minecraft/openmod and set the launch command line as so:
[-cp] myminecraftmodjarfilename.jar;minecraft_server.jar net.minecraft.server.MinecraftServer
