After weeks of searching for a good host, I stumbled across these guys. Took a look at their website and I instantly knew I was on to something. After purchasing, all went well (apart from me goofing the server files )

The only problem I had with MCLayer is when all their core services were being nullrouted and the NewYork4 node was being DDoSed, but hey, these things happen sometimes. They always kept me up-to-date throughout the situation.

Overall, great service on top quality hardware at great prices. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good host.

The service for this hosting is outstanding, they have amazing customer service, they even go as far as to add you on Skype, they go out of their way for you when you need help, which is more then they should ever have to do.

I’ve dealt with the horridness of server craft, redstonehost, and the terrible service of many others. If you want a good host, use this one. They have good customer service and are cheap – very cheap for non-laggy servers.

so far the best host ever. free mysql, very low prices,very very great support, and ssh and ftp access,and mcmyadmin idk how these
guys can get better. when i switched from redstone host and order this i did ran into problems like my login but these guys just rocked at helping me my server rans very great never get any over loading messages and lag free i dont know how this can get better. i would strongly recommand this to a friend. so mclayer is the best host in my book

1 word: amazing.
I recently came from servercraft.co and I must say, McLayer is WAAAAAY better!
My old host took 8-10 hours to respond to a support ticket, with McLayet it took less than 10 minutes.
With the 15% lifetime discount and super low prices, it is a great deal.
I have to 1GB server package and it is amazing, no lag at all.
McMyAdmin enterprise editions & dedicated sub domains.
Free MySQL!!! That is unheard of!!!
FTP access makes it easy to modify your files without having to open up a support ticket.
Live support chat is very nice and helpful.
I have had NO downtime on my server at all.

These are just some of the great features. McLayer is definatly the way to go!!!

It was on these forums that I first heard about MCLayer, after reading all the great reviews I decided to go ahead and move my server over to them. I ordered a 4GB VPS, with full management. Sure enough within 5 minutes the server was set-up, a quick message to the support team with my plugin requests. They even transferred over my map from my old host for me.

I would definately recommend these guys, getting help is a piece of cake compared to other hosts, especially when you have Nick on skype he will make sure you are sorted.

Even if this is your first time hosting, they have alot of experience and will help you out. I’ve just ordered my first Dedicated Server, and I’m confident I will have no problems with these guys at your side.

Price is great too aha.

This company is the best i have been with 3 other hosts and this is by far the best i have ever seen the live chat is amazing and i was responded to within seconds the features are good and there is barley any lag and almost no down time. the tech support guys are phenomenal and support was instantaneous these guys are the best!!!

A friend of mine bought our plan from MinecraftLayer a few moths ago, and we have upgraded several times. The quality of the server is fantastic and although I had a few problems with the server they were resolved quickly and effectively. The quality of the server is fantastic with no downtime that i can remember. Their support is absolutely amazing as they are always polite and do their utmost to help in every way. I have been hosting for a little while with a ‘bargain’ provider. The price at MinecraftLayer is extremely reasonable and was a minor increase over my existing provider, so I decided to take a closer look.

I hit their 1GB demo server and was immediately impressed. I did some more research on what they were offering (I didn’t know much when I decided on my old provider). I sent some technical questions to the pre-sales team and got an extremely prompt and knowledgeable response — Not just a bunch of sales mumbo jumbo, I could tell that this person actually knew what they were talking about! I have not had a need to test their post-sales support, but If my pre-sales communications are any indication of their overall knowledge and responsiveness then I am sure it is fantastic!

The individual explained that they were using Xen virtualization which did not allow them to “oversell”. I did some personal research and found evidence to back up this reassuring statement. I also researched the processors they were using and found those to be of high quality.

MinecraftLayer offers full root/SSH which was a huge bonus to me. However, they have McMyAdmin pre-installed on their servers and I saw that they also offered a purchase add-on which provided a more “managed” solution in terms of plugins (for a small additional fee). These folks are clearly focused on accommodating admins of varying experience levels.

For the more technical folks out there who plan on taking advantage of the root access, I had absolutely no problem finding my way around their environment despite the fact that I am fairly new to the unix admin role. My VPS has a CentOS install on it and they seem to take a minimal approach to their base image (vi, no vim — no sudo installed). I completely respect this since they don’t waste space with a bunch of tools that the average admin would not use. In my opinion, anybody who _needs_ these extra OS tools should be able to install them as needed.

I opted in for the optional (and free) mySQL install. But have not used it yet.

I have been very pleased with the overall performance of the server. I am running it in parallel with my old server as a comparison and it is a huge difference. I have yet to witness the dreaded “can’t keep up” warning in the server logs even though it was a common occurrence with my ‘bargain’ host. Most importantly my core players (who helped me take the new server through the paces) are also very pleased with the performance.

I HIGHLY recommend MinecraftLayer to admins of any background and experience level. They seem to be very active with promotions (I got in on a 15% lifetime discount). In all of my searching, they offer an excellent price-per-pound on Minecraft servers. As a matter of fact, they are better priced than any others I saw with the exception of the aforementioned ‘bargain’ provider and… well… let me just say I’m glad to be rid of those guys!

My friend told me about MinecraftLayer a few weeks ago. I was looking for a good server host so i decided to try this. So far everything has been great. I have run into a few problems, but MCLayer support helped me very quickly and fixed my problems very fast. I HIGHLY recommend MClayer to ANYONE that is looking for a good server host. I’ve only had good come from this host! The support is absolutely amazing! Really quick to reply, and the nicest I’ve ever seen. What I love the most is that the staff actually get to know you. It’s not like most companies where it’s just a “you pay me, I give you server” relationship.

I’ve never had ANY downtime issues with these guys that WASN’T our fault! Never had a single ounce of lag. As many other people said, you get many features for FREE practically, whereas normally you’d pay 15$ for them! MCMyAdmin, SSH, FTP, the list goes on and on!

All in all, I can’t love these guys enough. I HIGHLY recommend them to ANYONE who’s looking for a good server host.

I can remember the earlier days of Minecraft. I’d always wanted a server. As time past, I got jobs working under-the-counter at several local computer businesses. I was, and still am one year short of a working permit, so it was good money for me. I put some of my money into savings, and I eventually put some in a fund to rent a server. When I had about 200 dollars in my server fund, I decided it was time to buy. A few hours and countless Google searches later, I decided this service was the best for my needs. A few clicks and a Pay-Pal transaction later, I found myself loging into my own server. I couldn’t believe how short of a time it had taken. MinecraftLayer is the undoubtedly best Minecraft server host I have ever seen. I have rented server from 5 different server hosts but once I saw what MCLayer offered and their price, I just had to switch. Don’t get me wrong, the other server hosts were good, but MCLayer is beyond good, they are AMAZING.

The support from the staff is almost unbelievable. You can add them on Skype and have a 1 on 1 chat with them and they are really helpful and friendly.

The features that they have are great, especially because they don’t come at an extra charge. MySQL database, McMyAdmin, and full root access (SSH/SFTP)are all included in the order.

The prices do seem to be a little high but it is DEFINITELY worth the money. In fact, I’m surprised that the prices aren’t higher because everything they have is amazing. Right now they are having a special sale and all their packages are 15% off for life. That’s a great deal and I would order ASAP if you’re looking for a good server host.

The performance is also great, almost no lag at all, everything runs smoothly, and ALL the plugins work perfectly fine.

The uptime is incredible, there are no random server crashes or no random disconnections which I think is very important to players.

In conclusion, if you want to be able to run a great successful server at a great price, consider purchasing a server from MinecraftLayer!

I absolutly love this host. You know why?

1. A+ Support. I sent in a ticket, and within 5 mins, I got a response. The live chat representatives are very polite and are willing to help you with whatever problem you have with your VPS. The support here are just fantastic.

2. The Minecraft VPS are just absolutely fantastic. There is no lag at all. I installed heavy plugins on a 1gb server and I experience ZERO lag.

3. The prices are ABSOLUTELY low. With their promotions constantly going, it just makes me want to get more servers.

4. You get root SSH/SFTP, a dedi IP, and MySQL for free. How amazing is that?

I absolutely will host a server with MinecraftLayer again.

This is probably the best provider I’ve come across when it comes to quality. They are amazing! My server has never had downtime, and I have full control over how it functions. When I was considering buying their service I had a couple of questions, so I went into their live chat – an owner, Nick, not only answered my questions much better than expected, he also talked to me for over an hour about many things Minecraft and tech related!

The price is just a bit on the mid-high side, but it is worth every penny. The support, uptime, service, communication, and friendliness is worth double what they charge. The service is absolutely amazing, and they honestly leave everyone else in the dust. A+

I signed up with MCLayer over a month ago and it has been the best one of my experiences, by far, with professional MC hosting companies. My time with MCLayer has been rather uneventful — a good thing when it comes to hosts — and even if problems do crop up, I feel safe having to experience said problems w/them because of the superior quality of their service and willingness to admit when problems are on their end, even when some users may not have noticed a degradation in service. MCLayer staff even pointed out to me, through no excuse for conversation initiated by my person, that I may have conflicting plugins, as well as when plugins I had personally installed were out of date. This, to me, is above and beyond the call of duty.

These guys are very helpful. Their customer service is instant on Skype and their ticket response is very quick. I am very pleased with their customer support.

Prices are prices very reasonably, with many coupons being available (40% off right now!!). I would like to see some of them drop a bit, but that’s just my personal opinion.

MCMA is fairly basic, but has it’s issues, which MCLayer can’t handle really. But, they always help out!

My server has crashed randomly a couple times, but they’ve helped put it back up in an instant.

They also really treat their customers well! They gave me a boost and even threw in an extra 5% off for lifetime, just for being a customer!

Overall, really nice people who help out and are great to talk to. But, the server performance can be a bit better. Other than that, no lag, no problems really!

I found these guys on the Minecraft Forums and thought “Why not?” My old VPS provider had been jerking me around for weeks and I was fed up, so I (metaphorically) threw a dart into the pile of hosting site posts and picked these guys and my aim didn’t fail me. These guys have been great! The server was setup almost instantly, and considering I signed up at some unkindly hour at night I was very surprised. The server has never crashed, runs easily with 12+ people at once, and the pricing is right within my bounds. I can SSH my way into the server and fiddle around manually, or use McMyAdmin to quickly and painlessly change a few settings. They upgraded my server to the latest stable release of bukkit as soon as it came out, and they were very polite and helpful with all of my inane questions. They’ve left me wondering why I was with my previous provider at all, and have given me the piece of mind all server administrators crave. Highly recommended to EVERYONE!

I found MinecraftLayer off this site a few days ago and thought I would give them a shot. I am extremely happy with the service they have provided. Very fast server, with very little block lag, and quick set up time. You get SSH and FTP access, as well as a web interface. And the support is amazing. If you are having troubles, you can live chat with the support guys, and they work with you to fix your problem. Haven’t had that kind of support with any other host. Thoroughly recommend for anyone looking for a good Minecraft Server!
