I have had this server for 2 days and I’m deeply disappointed! Let me just say the support service is CRAP! I sent them 3 support tickets, which none have been replied too! The latest craftbukkit version 1.0.0! I have asked for them to update in my support ticket but they haven’t replied! This service is terrible!

A pro for this service is their pricing! Their pricing is outstanding, 2gb for $10! I haven’t seen that in any hosting service! Unfortunately this is the only pro

was with this server almost from the day they opened, the service was pretty good for the first few months, then it started to slip, it got worse and worse to the point when the games were actually crashing and things were skipping back a few hours and people would loose whatever they did during that time, I have since moved on to another server.
if you want a cheap screw around server this is a great place, if you want to do any serious gaming at all move on, this server will dissapoint you.

Its a pretty bad host. Its always been down recently, support goes unanswered. Site is full of spam and just a basic myBB install. I don’t think whoever is behind it put in any real effort at all. Complete fail of a host, I would not suggest this to anyone. Save yourself and go look at other hosts if your thinking of hostmycraft.

A fairly good host if you’re looking for the cheapest of the cheap but they seem to have some problems with uptime even though they claim 99% uptime.

CONS:
I wanted to run a 24/7 server with only 5 slots. After about a week the service just started going to shit. Lots of downtime and no announcements of server maintenance on the site. The worst part was that it wasn’t running, the ENTIRE website was down so you couldn’t even contact support. It seems as if they were having lots of problems the last week I used their service. I contacted them after all of the downtime to ask what was up. Never got a reply.

PROS:
When the server was up, there was rarely any lag. I had problems when I first setup the server (my fault) and sent a support ticket request. I got a reply about 30 mins later and he helped me solve my problem pretty quickly. The first few days were great and I didn’t have any complaints. FTP allowed me to access my files to backup the world and whatnot. The price was great for what I got (1 month for $4.25 w/ discount code). I wish the uptime had been better and then maybe I might’ve stayed with them.

I ended just setting up my own server at home after this unfortunate downtime experience. They are still a host worth checking out if you’re tight on money. The downtime thing could have just been bad timing for me.

So I decided to enter the world of mincraft server administrating a month ago. I did some research and found the qualities of a good host. Went and took a look around and decided HMC was the choice for me. Now the website was running a basic install of myBB and still is so nothing special. I saw the pricing and what came with it and was amazed. I immediately jumped to order a server but when I went to the client area the RAM was suddenly shot down by over 50% in some cases. So from there, there seems to be some false advertising on the homepage. Support is hard to come by and I don’t feel there is really anyone there. Control panel looks basic but does what you need to do. I can say that with the lack of support my server has managed some okay uptime. Long story short, if your comfortably managing your server independently and don’t mind the error on the front page HMC is fine, if your new and need someone to help guide you go with someone else.

this is a fraud, do not go here to buy a server, the reason its so cheap is that have only one server, and they add you to that giant server. So you dont get your own server you share it with someone else, do not buy from here. My warning

I have been with two hosts before HMC and I must say that it is a step up. I’m not going to name any names here but the first host I tried was simply terrible. The second host was great and ran rather smoothly. Sadly their staff wasn’t too helpful all the time. I began to look around and a friend suggested HostMyCraft to me. The prices looked great and I am now enjoying my server. Currently I have a small 10 person server for me and my friends but I’m thinking of upgrading to something bigger and making a public server . All in all it is a great host. I can suggest HMC to anyone I meet and know that they will be getting a great deal.

I bought a server from HostMyCraft about two weeks ago. I couldn’t be happier. Uptime has been great and reliable. The pricing is a great value considering you get free, professional web hosting with each package. HostMyCraft uses cpanel for you to manage your servers which does create a bit of a learning curve and the minecraft manager is not as fully featured as it could be. The good thing, though, is that they are updating the manager constantly and they are publishing tutorials for cpanel and how to run your server weekly. The thing that I like best about this host though is the environment. They have this unique approach as a “community powered hosting provider.” The forums offer many ways to get support, not only from HMC staff but also from peers. All in all its a great place as we tend to help each other out and it creates a nice community spirit. To summarize my review, its a great host and I think you should buy from it. It does take a little research and getting used to, to manage your server but in the end its worth it. They are constantly improving upon the learning curve and doing things for the good of the community. I truly believe that HMC is destined to be one of the major players in the hosting community who will undoubtedly change it forever.

I’ve switched from the original DBK Servers (which was way before HMC) to MCMyServ to EdgeVPS and finally to HMC. No other provider has been able to provide the level of service HMC has been able to provide. HMC-Kegan and HMC-Kevin have been entirely professional. Combined with blazing fast connections and their own little custom developed server management CP that integrates with cPanel for better AIO service (you get free website hosting as well, which is incredibly easy to set up and go with cPanel) they’re virtually unbeatable. You also get your own little subdomain if you don’t already have one. I’m subscribed to the $40 plan which allows for 60 slots and I run the community called Minecraft Worlds, we’ve never been happier with any other host. If you want to talk to me, i’d gladly do so.
